Dear Friend,

Last week I completed another three town halls in Kansas – more than 200 in the last three years.  Kicking off this year’s town halls in Pawnee County, this continues the tradition of visiting every one of the District’s 63 counties each year.

In Larned, I fielded key questions relating to the ongoing negotiations over the Farm Bill, the continuing fallout over ObamaCare, as well as my efforts to protect our liberties from the National Security Agency.  Next, the Ellinwood Chamber of Commerce hosted a small business forum where I highlighted my battles on behalf of Kansas small businesses and their employees.  Later that day, I visited Lyons and discussed Washington’s addiction to over-spending, the massive and growing stranglehold of debt and taxes, plus the over-regulation hindering economic growth in rural America.  I can report that – despite the mess in Washington – these communities are successfully fighting to survive and prosper.

I look forward to visiting the rest of the Big First’s 63 counties during 2014.  Most of Washington is clearly out of control – with huge deficits, a spend-now-pay-later mindset, and over-regulation – and not listening to the demands of the American people.  But with these town halls, Kansans have an opportunity to be heard all the way to Washington.”

Sincerely,

Tim Huelskamp
Member of Congress
