Talks on proposed tax increases continues

Kansas lawmakers could resume talks on proposed tax increases. The governor’s budget director tells legislators that if they don’t approve increases in sales and cigarette taxes, the state will likely have to lay off prison guards, cut aid to public schools and reduce payments to health care providers and nursing homes.
