Starting Wednesday, January 29, and continuing for approximately two weeks, a survey team from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will start surveying along U.S. 83 Highway in Sheridan County.
The survey work will take place along the corridor from the Thomas/Sheridan County line east to the Decatur/Sheridan County line.
The survey is necessary for the detailed design of the proposed improvement of 11 miles of this section of the highway –planning to occur in 2016.
Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the survey corridor. When it becomes necessary for crew members to enter private property, they will first obtain permission from the landowner or tenant.
Todd Toman, L.S. with KDOT, will be in charge of this survey. For more information regarding the land survey, please contact Todd at (785) 877-3315 or KDOT Area Engineer Mathew Withington at (785) 672-3113 in Oakley or [email protected]
