Stop-Gap Budget Bill Moves To KS Senate

The Kansas Senate is expected to vote late today on a proposal to close most of the current budget deficit. This is the same plan that cleared the state House yesterday, relying on highway funding and other specialized money to be diverted to the state’s main bank account. Legislative researchers believe the proposal would still leave Kansas about $800-thousand in the hole at the end of the fiscal year.
