State Proposes Changes For Government Workers

The Kansas Department of Administration is proposing changes to hiring, layoff, and firing policies for government workers in the state, along with getting rid of longevity bonuses. Those are paid to roughly 17,500 workers right now. The head of the department says the goal is to emphasize performance over seniority when layoffs become necessary.
