State Legislature Mulls Taking Over OSHA Enforcement

The idea of having the state take over enforcement of workplace safety rules is getting some support in the Kansas House, despite hesitation in the state Senate. Leaders in the upper chamber pulled back when they were told this wouldn’t cut down on the number of regulations. Still, the proposal has the support of business in the state and that’s what has the state House pressing forward with the plan. The federal government picks up the tab for states that do it.
