State Legislators Likely To Discuss Abortion Bills

Kansas legislators may soon consider proposals to ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected and to require women to wait three days before ending a pregnancy, instead of 24 hours, as the law requires now. The head of the Kansas House Federal and State Affairs Committee expects the panel to have hearings on fetal heartbeat legislation. Lawmakers open the annual session on the 12th.
