Spring Planting Report Expected

The Agriculture Department gets ready to put out its estimate of farmers’ spring planting plans. It comes as growers weigh grain prices, weather and crop rotations in deciding what crops to put in the ground. Also a factor this time around are the relatively low fuel prices compared to previous years, which makes some more energy intensive crops like corn and sunflowers more attractive.
