Spring heat worse than early fall freeze for wheat

Kansas State University researchers say spring heat is a bigger danger to winter wheat than an early freeze in the fall.  They say in a just-published study that a one-degree increase in heat in the spring decreased yields by seven percent. It’s based on data taken from 11 locations over a nearly 30-year period.
