“Socktober” at the CCC Bookstore

Sacha SanguinettiSeptember 27, 2018

The Colby Community College Campus Bookstore is seeking assistance during “Socktober” to support veterans and deployed soldiers.

“We are collecting new male and female adult socks,” said bookstore manager Leisa Hansen. “Our collection will go to the Soldiers’ Angels organization, which is celebrating its 15th year of supporting deployed service members and veterans in VA hospitals through a variety of projects.”

According to Soldiers’ Angels, socks are one of the most requested items from soldiers. The socks donated are worn when service members are not in uniform.

Socks can be taken to the Campus Bookstore in the Robert Burnett Student Union. They must be brand new male or female socks of any color or style in the original packaging.

Donations will be shipped the first week of November. For more information, contact Hansen at (785) 460-5500.
