Six Arrested In Drug Crackdown In Colby, Goodland

Six people are facing drug-related charges in Colby and Goodland. This as part of a crackdown on drug sales and use. Two of the people involved, Wendy Huthansel and Tyson Owing, are accused of taking part in a drug transaction near a school. Lawrence Hapke II faces possession & distribution charges, with conspiracy counts filed against Derrick Barnett, Kelsi Lewis, and David Rodriguez.

Today In Kansas was first to report Rodriguez is a former Colby police officer who unsuccessfully ran for Thomas County Sheriff in 2012. He resigned from the City of Colby in 2011, shortly before beginning his campaign for sheriff.
