Kansas Sen. Jerry Moran is saying that he’ll accept this year’s election results and will encourage all candidates for office to do the same. His statement comes in response to GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims that election fraud could cost him the White House. Trump later said he’d accept the results of the election if he wins.

The Wyandotte County DA’s office is pressing forward with first degree murder charges in the death of that teenager, who was found stabbed to death in Kansas City, Kansas. New DNA testing technology prompted investigators to reopen the case two years ago.
A mentally ill Kansas man pleads no contest to killing a man three days after getting out of a state psychiatric hospital in a case that prompted a state inquiry. That man from Haviland plead no contest in Kiowa County to second-degree murder. Prosecutors claimed he beat another man so severely in May of last year at a residential care facility that the victim died a few weeks later.
A former pastor is accused of trying to choke a 4-month-old baby he didn’t know at a Walmart in Overland Park. That man from New Jersey is charged with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor battery. Police claim he walked up to a woman who was in a checkout lane and began choking her baby. The woman screamed, and bystanders intervened.
Prosecutors claim the three men accused of planning a terror attack on Somali immigrants in Garden City pose a “substantial danger” to the community and shouldn’t be released on bail before the trial. Detention hearings for the three are set for Monday. Given the men’s backgrounds and their involvement with a militia group, prosecutors argue the three are a flight risk.
