Request filed to delay court ruling on school funding

Kansas officials want last week’s court ruling on school funding put on hold. Attorney General Derek Schmidt has filed his request with the state Supreme Court. The panel of judges in Shawnee County ordered the state to provide about $50 million in aid to public schools under its previous formula, instead of the block grants the legislature approved at Governor Brownback’s request.
