A new government report shows the value of principle Kansas crops fell last year to $6.51 billion. It was $7.85 billion in 2013 and $8.09 billion the year before that. Analysts aren’t surprised, given the damage to the wheat crop from drought, coupled with falling prices in the grain markets. Corn was the most lucrative crop in the state last year, followed by wheat, soybeans, and sorghum.
