Preliminary numbers show this has been the quietest year for tornadoes in Kansas in 1994. The numbers are down nationwide as well, with 783 twisters on record so far, while the U.S. normally has about 1,050 by this time. Forecasters aren’t expecting the tornado numbers in Kansas to climb, either, since this is right about the time twister season starts to thin out in the plains.
