The Flatlander Festival is going to be bigger and certainly brighter than ever this weekend in Goodland.
The city of Goodland, Goodland Events Team, and Goodland Activities Center are holding the city’s first ever 5k or one mile fun run/walk Glo Run Sept. 28th. GAC administrator Tess Smith said in a recent radio interview that around 200 people had already registered for the neon fun-run.
“We set out to provide the community with something else to participate in to go along with the Flatlander Festival,” Smith said. “It’s something new to try and get people of the community involved.”
Early registration to receive a Glo Run t-shirt have passed, but there is still time to sign up to participate. The $15 registration fee gains entry into the run and some neon accessories to help runners illuminate the night sky.
“We will be providing some glow bracelets and necklaces for the participants to wear, but that doesn’t mean you can’t add your own touch-of-glow items,” Smith said. “Of course, the brighter the colors the better.”
Registration forms can be found at the Goodland Activities Center on Main Street or online here <hyper>. The race begins at 8 p.m. MST at Chambers Park (13th and Sherman) Saturday night.
