Goodland, KS – April 22, 2013 – Northwest Tech hosted representatives from Clover Park Technical College on Monday, April 22, 2013. Clover Park Technical College is a technical college serving approximately 5,000 students in Lakewood, Washington about eight miles southwest of downtown Tacoma, the state’s second-largest city. The visiting team consisted of faculty and administrators interested in learning how the iPad is used in technical education.




Faculty and administration from Northwest Tech met with the representatives to share the college’s story and make recommendations for implementation. Faculty were paired up to spend the remainder of the morning in a similar departments, while administrators toured the campus.




The Clover Park Technical College representatives responded positively to the accomplishments of Northwest Tech both from an instructional technology and a teamwork point of view. Menako Abraham, Computer Information Technology Instructor, complimented the college, “Northwest Tech is a small college doing things that everyone can learn from.”




Since the release of the Apple sponsored video of the iPad initiative at Northwest Tech, the college receives weekly inquiries asking for advice in pursuing technology initiatives. “You know you are world-class when other colleges from around the country come to see how we do what we do in technical education in such an extraordinary way,” explained Dr. Mills.
