
New information from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows northwest Kansas making progress against the overly dry conditions. Recent rain has moved a lot of the region into moderate drought, compared to severe drought just a couple weeks back. The western half of Thomas & Sherman counties are still in severe drought, as well as most of Logan & Cheyenne counties. The eastern 2/3rds of Rawlins County is down to moderate drought, along with the western third of Wallace county. Gove, Sheridan, & Decatur Counties are completely out of severe drought now.
