Norquist: ‘No’ To Higher Alcohol, Tobacco Taxes In KS

Anti-tax activist Grover Norquist is urging the state legislature to reject Governor Brownback’s plan to increase tobacco and alcohol taxes to close the budget gap. In a letter to legislators, Norquist argues that would shift the tax burden to the poor and middle class most. His group, Americans for Tax Reform, initially praised Brownback for getting the state legislature to slash personal income taxes.
