New KSU lab for animal disease

Officials have broken ground for a new national laboratory at Kansas State that will focus on deadly animal diseases. The cost of the lab has soared to more than $1 billion. Federal officials say that’s because they’ve changed the design to guard against the release of any deadly pathogens.
