GOODLAND, KS– The Northwest Tech Maverick mens basketball team remained perfect of the young season Saturday evening defeating the Runnin’ Lopes of Lamar 78-70 at the Max Jones Field House.

It was the Mav’s first true home test after winning their home opener on Friday night over the Lamar junior Varsity 93-32.

Tech was led by sophomore Chris Freeman who led the game is scoring with 22 pts while teammate Miles Gibson chipped in 20 points & a team-high 8 rebounds. Mav’s also got 10 points a piece from Terrion Miller & DaeKwon Gross.

It’s the second consecutive season where Northwest Tech has gone 5-0 to start the year. Last year they started 6-0 before dropping their first game. They will look to get to that 6-0 mark, maybe even 7-0, when they play at the Air Force Prep Classic this coming Friday and Saturday.
