COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA — The Northwest Tech wrestling program concluded its season with a fourth place finish on Saturday at the NJCAA Wrestling National Championships.
The third-ranked Mavericks had six guys place inside the top six, earning All-American status, a program high. Two of them finished as national champs. Jordan Marshall took home the title at 125 pounds & Charles Small won the championship at 184 pounds. Marshall and Small became just the second and third national champs in Northwest Tech’s program history. The other four guys who earn All-American status were: Enkhbold Sukhbaatar who placed 6th at 149 pounds. Munkhbat Bat-erdene placed 6th at 133 pounds. Tsogtbayer Tserendagua also took 6th at 174 pounds. And Bat-erdene Boldmaa placed 3rd at 141 pounds.
The only programs to finish higher were Clakamas who took first. Followed by Northeast Oklahoma & Iowa Central.
The fourth place finish capped off a record year for the Mavericks who ended up with a National Dual Championship, a Jayhawk Conference Dual Championship, a Region Six title & Jayhawk Conference title.
