Major Colby Hotel Reassessed

The owner of a major hotel in Colby wins in his attempt to get the property tax bill on the hotel lowered. County appraiser Bruce Webb dropped the Sleep Inn’s assessed value by more than half a million dollars, and that means Lou Hines will have to pay about $30,000 less for the 2013 tax year. County commissioners went along with it at this week’s meeting.
