Legislature Mulls Police Body Cameras

There’s support on both sides of the aisle in Topeka to make body cameras standard gear for police statewide. The proposals in the state legislature follow last summer’s protests in Missouri after the deadly shooting of an unarmed teenager. Supporters claim body cameras will protect police from allegations of misconduct, while opponents largely worry about the costs, particularly for small departments.
