Thanks to an amazing back nine, Goodland senior Ryan Lalicker took home a first place finish at the TMP Invitational at Smokey Hills Country Club in Hays on Monday.
After shooting a 42 on the front nine Lalicker stormed back to shoot a 38 on the back nine, the lowest back nine score by two shots, to shoot an 82 also two strokes better than the next golfer. It was the first win of the season for Lalikcer.
Goodland as a team shot a 360 combined score to place second, just eight shots back of tournament champion Hays-TMP. Fellow senior Garin Ihrig would place fourth with an 85. First year golfer Brock Mull also scored points for GHS placing 15th with a 95.
Colby High School was also there, they placed tenth as a team. Their top golfer was Carter Stanley who placed 18th with a 97.
Hays-TMP, the tourney champion, had three guys place inside the top 15 and that four place in the top 20. Cameron Rozean & Ryan Stoecklien placed second & third respectively in the individual standings.
