KU students have option to lock in tuition

andy lambertJuly 13, 2015

KU plans to let freshmen decide if they want to lock in tuition costs for four years or gamble that the rates won’t go up too much. For the last eight years, nearly all incoming freshmen have been required to use the tuition compact. It is intended to protect from sudden sharp increases in tuition by starting with a higher rate but limiting increases for four years, but this fall freshmen will be allowed to opt out of that if they choose.
