KS Senate Panel Mulls New Abortion Law

A state Senate committee is considering a bill banning a little-used abortion procedure. It would prohibit a procedure known as dilation and evacuation, which is only used in about 8 percent of abortions. Supporters of the ban call that procedure ‘dismemberment’, while
abortion rights advocates argue there are times when that’s the safest way to end a pregnancy.
