Kobach Weighs In On Judicial Nomination Process

Secretary of State Kris Kobach says Kansas Supreme Court decisions in school funding and death penalty cases show the justices aren’t as competent as federal judges. He spoke before a meeting of the House Judiciary Committee on the topic of changing the way judges are picked in Kansas. While Kobach’s official capacity doesn’t involve the way justices get to the bench, he spoke in favor of having the governor appoint them directly.
