The Colorado Rockies open up their 2013 season today in Milwaukee. This will be the 20th Opening Day for Colorado (the franchise started in 1993) and 730 KLOE-AM is one of a handful of radio affiliates that has been with the team every step of the way.
The first regular season game the Rockies played was April 5, 1993, a 3-0 win against the New York Mets at Shea Stadium in Queens. Their first post-season appearance came in 1995, under manager Don Baylor. The Rox lost to Atlanta in the National League Division Series. The most successful season Colorado experienced was in 2007 when they swept Philadelphia in the NLDS, swept Arizona in the NLCS, and then eventually lost in the World Series to Boston. The last post-season appearance for the Rockies was in 2009 when they lost to Philadelphia in the NLDS.
First pitch in Milwaukee is slated for 12:10PM (MT). As has been the case for the previous 19 years, you can hear the game on 730AM KLOE.
