Kansas tax collection outlook bleak

The Kansas budget hole appears to be getting deeper. State officials and university economists are projecting the state will collect $187 million less in taxes through June 2016 than they’d earlier anticipated. That could force the governor and lawmakers to consider larger tax increases to balance the budget.
