Kansas man has unique way of protesting “code enforcement”

andy lambertJuly 28, 2015

An Overland Park man is headed to court over a spat with code enforcement. The whole thing started with his storage shed being fenced off as city contractors worked on a drainage project, and some yard equipment being kept on the lawn. Code enforcement cited him for that, but he says he really snapped when code enforcement cited him for having clear glass on the fenced-off storage shed, so he moved nearly all his living room and kitchen furnishings onto the lawn in protest. Code enforcement hauled those off, cited him again, and told him to appear in court in September. He has since put 150 American flags on the lawn and other things that he admits are obnoxious, but legal under the code.
