
A federal judge tosses out a company’s extortion claim against a former worker who claimed she was fired after complaining about the company’s business practices. She’d worked for one of the companies managing KanCare, and claims in her whistle-blower suit that that company ordered workers to shift KanCare members away from higher-cost health care providers. The firm countersued, and claimed she’d demanded $3 million to not report the company to the state.
