Judge Orders KS County To Issue Same-Sex Marriage Licenses

Courts just outside Kansas City will start issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. Johnson County Chief District Judge Kevin Moriarty issued the order yesterday, saying the goal is to avoid confusion about the legal climate surrounding same-sex marriages. It comes just after The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear appeals from five states trying to keep their bans on gay marriage.
