Heat advisories expected this week…and other headlines: July 19, 2016

Temperatures are expected to hang near 100 in most of Kansas again today. That’s leading to another round of heat advisories in many parts of the state, with forecasters saying it’ll be dangerously hot from throughout the afternoon through sundown.
A Dodge City woman gets nearly 22 years in prison for making a video of herself having sex with a child under 5 and uploading it to the internet. She entered a guilty plea in the case back in March, admitting to using a smartphone to record the act and then uploading it to her Google Drive account. The internet company found it and notified authorities.
Five people art hurt after a big rig hit an ATV near Copeland. It appears the ATV’s driver was trying to turn left as the semi was trying to pass on the left, and hit that vehicle. The driver of the big rig along with all four people on the ATV were taken to the hospital.
Confederate currency, bone dice and a memoir from a nurse who also was a Union spy are among a 3,000-piece Civil War collection that the University of St. Mary in Leavenworth is adding to its library. Librarians and curators say the collection has two significant areas of focus: women in the war and regional materials from Kansas and Missouri.
For the third time in just over two years, a Kansas City Kansas woman gives birth to twins. She claims she hasn’t had any fertility treatment at all. Mom and babies are home and doing well after a stint in neonatal intensive care. She and her fiance’ are set to marry in September, but they don’t plan to have any more kids for at least ten years.
