ULYSSES, Kan — Despite not playing some of their best golf, the Goodland Cowgirls golf team was able to capture the GWAC title at the Bentwood Golf Course on Monday.
Cowgirls as a team shot a 380 combined score. Kerrigan Rudolph once again led the way with an 80 to tie for first. Brooke Livengood shot a 91 placing third. Colby Perryman shot a 94 placing fourth. Peyton Belden shot a 115. Ashtin McClung shot a 116 which was a personal best and Briana Woodrow shot a 132.
“Our team knows we could’ve done better with a lower team score,” said head coach Connie Livengood.
Colby finished in second place as team led by Brielle Bange who tied for first with Rudolph shooting an 80. Both girls tied even after a two hole playoff.
All 3A teams will be start the postseason on Monday with regionals in Hugoton.
