COLBY, KS — Colby, Hoxie, Goodland and three other area boys golf teams met on Thursday afternoon at Meadow Lake Golf Course in Colby for the Colby Invitational.
Goodland took first with a 332 combined score. Cowboys also had the first and second placers in tournament. Garin Ihrig took first with a 78 and Ryan Lalicker placed second with a 79. Cowboys also had two other golfers finish inside the top 15 with Talon Corke taking sixth with an 85 and Brennan Brumbaugh taking 15th with a career-low round of 90.
Hoxie placed third as team with a score of 354, nine strokes back of second placing Ulysses. Indians had five of golfers place inside the top twenty with Dylan Wiemer leading the way placed 7th with an 86. Parker Jones just finished outside the top ten in eleventh with an 88.
Rawlins County placed fifth in the team standings with a 396 team score. Kendrick Woody led the Buffs with a twelfth place finish and score of 89. Colby took seventh with a 398 team score. Carter Stanley placed 20th to finished as there top golfer and Oakley was led by Corbin Boles who placed 27th. OHS took eighth as a team.
Many of the same area golfers will meet again this Saturday in Atwood for their Invitational.
