SALINA, Kan — The girls golf talent of northwest Kansas was on full display Monday & Tuesday as Goodland and Colby golf teams placed first and second at the 321A state girls golf tournament at the Salina Municipal Golf Course.
With the win Goodland completed the perfect season, winning every single tournament that they participated in this year. As a team the Cowgirls shot a two-day combined score of 709 highlighted by a season best 343 shot in final round on Tuesday.
Kerrigan Rudolph capped off her amazing senior season placing fourth and was one of four Cowgirls to place. Peyton Belden placed 13th while Brooke Livengood & Colby Perryman tied for 14th place.
Many teams would have taken the type of season that the Colby Lady Eagles had finishing runner-up at state shooting a combined 745 and finished towards the top in pretty much every tourney they competed in.
Individually, Colby’s Brielle Bange shot the lowest score for an individual from the area placing third. The only other Lady Eagle to place was Mya Betz who placed 14th.
The only other area golfer who competed but was not from Colby nor Goodland was Oakley’s Jordyn Lowrie who held her own placing 8th.
Stanton County’s Rylie Cook won the individual title for the second state season shooting a combined 145 over the two-day tournament.
