GOODLAND, Kan. — Make it two in a row for the Goodland Cowgirls golf team as they defend their home course Tuesday afternoon and won their own Goodland Golf Invitational.
Cowgirls were led by Kerrigan Rudolph who shot an individual low of 82, nine strokes better than the second place finisher. Two other Cowgirls placed including Peyton Belden who placed ninth just coming in under triple digits with a 99 and Brooke Livengood who placed 11th with a 101.
“The day went well and we had some good things happen today,” said Goodland head coach Connie Livengood.
As a team GHS shot a 393 which was 30 strokes better than the second place team in Colby. It was Goodland’s second straight tournament win after winning the Hugoton Tournament just a few days ago.
Colby shot a 423 as a team and had three girls place inside the top-20. Brielle Bange was the Lady Eagles highest placer taking 6th with a round of 97 to bring home a medal. Lacy Weigel also got a medal shooting a 107 to place 15th. Brinley Sims finished inside the top-20 in 17th place with a 108.
Oakley High School was also there competing. As a team the Lady Plainsmen shot a 493 which placed them 8th. Jordyn Lowrie was their top golfer with a round of 97 to place 7th. Leanna Huddle just cracked the top-20 with a 112.

All three area teams will be back competing against one another on Thursday at the Cimarron Golf Tournament.
