JOHNSON, Kan — What started off as a wet, rainy & windy day turned to sunshine as the Goodland Cowgirl golf team won the Stanton County Invitational on Tuesday at the Prairie Pines Golf Course.
Goodland placed three ladies inside the top ten and had four girls place on their way to shooting a season best 362. Colby placed second as a team shooting a 396 thanks in part to two ladies finishing inside the top 10. Oakley finished in fifth place, led by Jordyn Lowrie’s 87 who placed third individually.
Kerrigan Rudolph once again led the way for GHS shooting a person best 79 to place second individually. Brooke Livengood shot an 89 placing fourth. Colby Perryman shot a 95 placing ninth. Peyton Belden shot a 99 placing 11th. Briana Woodrow and Ashtin McClung both shot a 127. Goodland has now won six straight tournaments.
“Glad we finished strong with how the day started”, said Connie Livengood. “Very happy with the teams lowest score this year with a 362. Super proud of all of them today. This score is a score that can compete with the teams at state. I hope we continue to play smart and with pride.”
Colby was led by Brielle Bange who shot a 90 to place fifth & Lacy Weigel who place placed 9th with a 95. Mya Betz placed shot a 105. Brinley Sims shot a 106. Alizah Schielke shot a 116 and Mallory Branum shot a 119.
The Lady Plainsmen behind Lowrie’s 87 were Leanna Huddle with a 100. Taylor Mayfield with a 125 & Sydney Ryan a 136.
Stanton County’s Rylie Cook shot the low individual round of the day with a 70.
Both Goodland & Oakley teams will be back competing Thursday at the Syracuse Tourney.
