Genesis of Sherman County Partners with the Salvation Army

andy lambertOctober 24, 2012

Dear Friends,

The time of year when Genesis and the Salvation Army of Sherman County prepare for the holiday season is fast approaching!

Each year we ring the bell for Salvation Army at Wal-Mart to raise funds for those in need.  Generous people like you help us feed the hungry, and provide a variety of services throughout the year.  Last year over $13,000.00 was distributed to needy families in Sherman County!  Your donations stayed here to purchase medicine, health care, help with heating and electric bills, provide assistance with rent, and purchase shelter in emergencies.  We will begin ringing for Salvation Army the day after Thanksgiving, November 23, and continue until Christmas Eve, December 24.

The Genesis Food Bank was there for our neighbors who were hungry.  On average three to four families a week received groceries including eggs, meat and fresh produce.  And, as in the past, we will be providing food baskets this holiday season.  On December 1, we will hold our annual food drive.  On December 13, we will prepare baskets for delivery.  We expect there will be a need for at least 200 baskets which we plan to fill with food for a nutritious holiday dinner.

We look forward to working with you to make this holiday a special one for everyone in Sherman County.  If you can help by ringing the bell, donating food, or by making a cash donation to the Salvation Army or Genesis, you will be helping those less fortunate have a happy holiday season, and ensure those in need continue to receive help all year long!

Please call to schedule a time to join with friends and family to ring the bell or fill a food basket this holiday season, November 23 until December 24, 2012.  We will look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,
