Farmers in Kansas are picking up the pace now that the weather’s warmed up. The National Agricultural Statistics Service says in a report farmers are applying fertilizer and herbicides as well as moving cattle away from crop residue. The latest government report pegs winter wheat as 13 percent poor to very poor, 46 percent fair, and 41 percent of the wheat is slated as either good or excellent.
