In a Today In Kansas investigation – a man caught in Thomas County with more than 260 pounds of marijuana last month is a free man for now and was not required to post bail. 24-year old Roberto Julian Hinojoza was arrested in Thomas County. Undersheriff Marc Finley made the arrest and confirms to the Today In Kansas Report Hinojoza was found with 264.3 pounds of marijuana. The estimated street value of all that is $1.27 million. Hinojoza was arraigned, told to return to court this fall, and then set free on his own recognizance on June 25th. Thomas County Attorney Kevin Berens declined to comment on why Hinojoza was released without posting bond despite allegedly trafficking a massive load of marijuana, noting that it is a pending case.

Hinojoza, who lives in Phoenix, Arizona, is due to return to court in Thomas County September 10th.
