EXCLUSIVE: Former Police Officer, Sheriff’s Candidate Arrested

A former Colby police officer and candidate for Thomas County Sheriff is in jail and facing drug-related charges. David Rodriguez is charged with conspiracy and using a communications facility to arrange sales of purchase. His next court date hasn’t been set yet. The City of Colby confirms to the Today In Kansas Report that Rodriguez resigned in 2011. He then launched his unsuccessful bid to unseat Rod Taylor as Thomas County Sheriff.
