A former Colby police officer and candidate for sheriff has had his second run-in with the law this month. David Rodriguez was arrested by Colby police on drug charges as part of a round-up on July 15th, and released two days later. Records show Rodriguez was arrested just three days later – July 20th – by the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office and charged with Criminal Use of Explosives, Endangering a Child, Making False Information, and Obstruction. In both cases, Rodriguez was released on his own recognizance. We’re continuing to research exactly what led to the second round of charges against Rodriguez.
