Abnormally warm, dry weather continues across much of western Kansas and that’s raising concerns about grass fires. Just across the border in northeast Colorado a fire destroyed a home near Yuma and charred more than 500 acres.

A teenager from Lawrence who’s accused of killing his grandmother will be tried as an adult. A judge in Douglas County issued that ruling in the case that dates back to December. That woman in her late 60s was found dead in her apartment.
It appears three people found shot to death outside a home in Harvey County were targeted and not victims of a murder-suicide. All three were adults, including a couple in their 30’s. The sheriff says an 18-month-old child who was found inside the home is with relatives and wasn’t hurt.
