Tomas Zepeda Jr., 34, and Shawna Lynn Mathis, 31, are charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, according to a release issued by U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom’s office. The crime is alleged to have occurred Feb. 11 in Thomas County.
If convicted, they face a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $1 million. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Mona Furst is prosecuting.
In all cases, defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. The indictments merely contain allegations of criminal conduct.
