A 10-year old girl is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Hutchinson. It’s unclear if she was crossing the road or playing in the street. The driver of the car that hit her is cooperating with police.
Sentencing is set for July 28th for the 18-year old convicted of setting a fire that killed his mom and sister in 2013. One more mental evaluation is still scheduled before sentencing. He was also convicted of aggravated arson for actually setting the fire, and attempted first-degree murder for trying to kill his dad, who was also in the home at the time.
A farm sprayer and SUV collide in Reno County, leaving a woman from Hutchinson dead. The driver of the sprayer ran a stop sign at Bone Springs Road and K-61, running into a Chevy Equinox. The passenger died, the driver, taken to the hospital. The man controlling the sprayer wasn’t hurt.
It appears a driver had a medical episode, sending his pickup truck into the front of the KAKE-TV building in Wichita. Nobody inside the TV station was hurt. The crash took out two big glass windows on the front of the building.
