GOODLAND, KS — The Goodland Cowgirls find themselves on a bit of a winning streak after blowing out the Hugoton Eagles at Ray Dye Field on Tuesday afternoon, 10-0 & 23-1.
Pitcher Brooke Livengood had one her best games of her career striking out nine Hugoton batters and only allowing one hit to lead GHS to a game one win. Offensive Livengood helped her own cause driving in three with double. Makayla Wolak, Atalee Amthor & Taitem Ketter also drove in runs for GHS and all but one of the Cowgirls scored in the victory.
Game two was just pure domination as GHS poured it on scoring a season high 23 runs on their was to their largest margin of victory over the past two years.
Goodland has now won four in a row, all over conference foes, to finish with a 6-4 GWAC record. Overall GHS is now 6-8 on the season with four more winnable games coming up on Thursday against Lakin & Friday versus Cimarron.
