CONCORDIA, KS — The Goodland Cowboys football woes continued on Friday afternoon as they fell on the road at Concordia 47-3.
Consistent issues sprung up again for GHS as they struggled to move the ball on offense, not being able to get the ball past midfield until the 2nd half. Amassing a total 108 yards, 13 on the ground and 95 through the air. The offense also turned it over three times with two fumbles and one interception that went for a Panther touchdown. QB, Leyton Cure went 11-18 for 95 yards with the interception. Mark Rodriguez had three receptions for a career high 44 yards.
The Goodland defense struggled once again to tackle and prevent big plays as they allowed 349 total yards, 228 on the ground. Concordia’s Hunter Schroeder & Keyan Miller each had two rushing touchdowns. Miller also had a receiving touchdown, which was the first passing TD of the season for the Panthers.
Goodland has now gone an entire year without a football victory as their last win was on October 6th of 2017 vs. Ulysses.
(0-6) Goodland will host Russell next Friday. (3-3) Concordia heads to nearby Beloit.
