GARDEN CITY, KS — The Goodland Cowgirls are GWAC league golf champs. GHS shot a combined team score of 380 at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course to take home the league crown on Monday.
Junior, Kerrigan Rudolph shot an 88 to win the individual title on the day. Other Goodland golfers who placed included: Brooke Drennen show shot a 94 to place second. Colby Perryman got third place shooting a 98 while sister Bram Perryman got fourth place shooting a 100. While, Peyton Belden shot a 111 for ninth place and Keyly Jarrett finished with a 125 but did not place.
“Really proud we could represent Goodland High School. Looking forward to going to regionals on Monday at Colby.” said head coach Connie Livengood.
Goodland will compete for regionals this coming Monday in Colby with a chance of going to state. Other teams that will be competing there are: Colby, Holcomb, Hugoton, Johnson-Stanton County, Lakin, Oakley, Scott Community and Syracuse HS.
ATWOOD, KS — The Cowgirls volleyball team resumed their season up in Atwood on Tuesday at the Rawlins County Quad.
Goodland didn’t have the best of nights going just 1-2 in their three matches. GHS dropped match one of the night to Hitchcock County (NE) two sets to none. Then would bounce back defeating Decatur Community in two sets before falling in their final match against the host Buffalo’s in two sets.
Goodland (7-17) heads to Colby for a quad with fellow GWAC members in Scott City & Holcomb on Thursday.
